Katmai Guide Service

Our camp consists of a main house which serves as our kitchen, dining room and living/reading room.  Here you will be served delicious home cooked meals, and as much fresh caught salmon as you want! This house dates back to the 1920s when it was built by an early resident of Bristol Bay who commercial fished and worked on sailing ships. It was also used as a summer fish camp.  It is a historical building. We have been renovating and improving it since the early 1970s, at the same time keeping it true to its original design.  It is a very comfortable house that is truly historic and represents early 20th century Bristol Bay.

Our guest buildings where you will stay are duplex style, and much newer, having been built by us very recently. Each room has its own bathroom with shower, tub, flush toilet and sink, and hot and cold running water. Rooms have propane heat, generated electricity and solar powered lights for when the generator is off, refrigerator, sink, and great view of the river!

We know you will be impressed by the traditional style, highly personalized service and comfort of our camp, which is our second home! We invite you to stay with us as our guests.

Our Facilities

You will stay at our comfortable “traditional” style fish camp located just feet from the Naknek River, about 15 miles from the King Salmon Airport. When we say traditional fish camp, we mean that we do not operate a huge “factory” lodge that runs 15-30 guests a week. We find these types of lodges large and obtrusive and not representative of what Bristol Bay really is. That is why we are small scale and highly personalized. We embody the real Bristol Bay.
