2011 Hunting Results
2011 proved to be an exceptional year for our hunters! Weather was good on the ALASKA PENINSULA throughout the hunt which is a condition we are always grateful for. Hunters were diligent, hunting selectively and passing on a number of good Bears with the objective of taking exceptional Bears. As the photo's indicate, this approach paid dividends. Knowing how to locate Big Bears and how to judge them is critical in fair chase wilderness hunting. Patience, persistence and a little good luck are critical elements which lead to success. KODIAK hunts were equally successful with several very large Bears being taken one of which is a very high Boone and Crocket record class animal. One B&C record class Sitka Black Tail Deer was also taken. The weather wasn't as favorable but we just worked through and around it. We saw over one hundred individual Whales while cruising the Bays and Fiords. What a season it was! A special Thanks is in order for ALL our hunters this past season. They all had great attitudes, worked hard and displayed a great sense of humor throughout. Contact us about openings for spring and fall Bear hunts available in 2012.

Alaska Peninsula (click here for more info)
We hunt federally permitted lands on the Alaska Peninsula which encompass the Becharof National Wildlife Refuge, Alaska Peninsula Wildlife Refuge, and the Aniakchak National Preserve. These areas are part of the Aleutian Mountain Range bordered by the Pacific Ocean and the north Gulf of Alaska on the east and the Bearing Sea on the west. The Brown Bears in the area will average 9.5' squared and Moose will average 65". However, 10' or better Bears and Moose with 70" heads are not uncommon. You will access the area by aircraft to traditional Alaskan tent camps with the most modern equipment. From there you hunt in the shadows of the volcanoes where game populations thrive. The mountains are spectacular and the rivers and streams abound with fish, which constitute the largest wild stock Salmon spawning grounds on earth. The sheer expanse and beauty of this country will make a lifelong impression.

Kodiak Island (click here for more info)
Like the Alaska Peninsula, Kodiak offers a very special level of outdoor experience as well as the huge Brown Bears, Mountain Goats, and Sitka Blacktail Deer that the island is known for. We hunt federally permitted land and access the area by aircraft, which is a spectacular ride in itself. The main camp is a traditional Safari tent camp located off the sea coast where you will see a myriad of wildlife including Seals, Whales, Sea Otters, Fox, Eagles and many other bird species. Spectacular coastal mountains join the crystal clear sea, which is abundant with fish including Halibut, Cod, Rock Fish and Crab. From the base camp we access the bays in the area by boat including a 42-foot Delta Crab fishing boat and several Boston Whaler skiffs. We hunt the beaches and mountainsides by foot. This hunt is conducted by traditional Kodiak methods and will stand as one of the most memorable trips you have ever taken.
